SBMUN is a United Nations simulation for middle and high school students, set on the shores of the Red Sea; where diplomacy, service, and cultural dialogue come together in Somabay’s uniquely immersive setting. SBMUN is organized by the founder of the El Gouna International Model United Nations (EGIMUN), Egypt’s leading Red Sea-based MUN conference. With five successful editions and thousands of delegates trained, our team brings the same expertise and commitment to creating an immersive, solutions-driven conference experience in Somabay.
Mission
To empower youth across Egypt, the Middle East and beyond by providing a platform for meaningful, solutions-driven debate while fostering personal development and inspiring leadership rooted in passion and purpose beyond the committee room.
Vision
To become the region’s leading MUN conference; amplifying youth voices and redefining the experience through a journey that sparks lasting impact in Egyptian communities and the world.
Experience a setting where natural beauty meets inspiration and learning. Somabay, on Egypt’s eastern Red Sea coast, offers an immersive backdrop for SBMUN, just a 20-minute drive from Hurghada International Airport and a convenient 4-hour flight from Central Europe. This expansive, self-contained community spans over ten million square meters, surrounded by the sea on three sides and framed by breathtaking desert mountains. Pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and sun-drenched landscapes create a serene yet stimulating environment for young leaders to engage, learn, and form lasting friendships.
Beyond the conference halls, delegates can enjoy a variety of activities that complement the SBMUN experience. Somabay features stunning sandy beaches and a scenic marina, offering both tranquility and adventure . Students can have fun at Soma Splash Aqua Park, race around the go-kart track, play on modern padel courts, or explore the 18-hole championship golf course with panoramic views of the Red Sea. Water sports such as snorkeling, diving, and sailing provide immersive ways to experience the marine environment, while resort pools, cafés, and communal spaces offer opportunities to relax and socialize.
